This is another song that really captures what Inertia Avenue is for me. Its another big power ballad really, although not mushy at all, just a big rock song with a big rock sound. I began this by recording the basic idea and emailing it to the rest of the band. Its often amusing to now re-listen to those initial recordings not only to hear how horrendously bad they are, but to see how the idea then devolped into what it eventually became on CD.

In terms of the lyrics, its a song about being given the run-around. If you keep chasing after something or someone and it feels like you are taking one step forward only to take two steps backwards is the general jist of the lyrics. Although the song implies a relationship type scenario, I think they can be interpreted in any way really. They could certainly be adapted to think of a thing or aspiration that is eluding them, rather than a person. I always try leave scope for the imagination in my lyrics. Sometimes an intentional blatantism is fine but often it defeats the purpose of reading lyrics.
