Song Title: Sunshine
Music by: Hammy
Arrangement by: Hammy
Lyrics by: Hammy
Written: Jul 2006
Recorded: Sep/Oct 2006

This song took absolutely ages to eventually complete. Not so much because it was tricky (I wrote the bulk of it in a day or two) but I just kept coming back to it again and again and not recording everything in sequence. I also didn't get round to completing the lyrics and recording the vocals until about 6 months after I'd recorded the instruments. Then, my hard drive crashed and some of the mix was lost, and again I took a while to get round to re-recording it (Tony's bass being one of the victim's!)

Its definitely one of the more adventurous arrangements in the IA set (in fact, for ages we just called the song 'Arrangement' coz that's what I named the original demo file and it seemed to stick!). In as much as the chorus is happy and cheerful, the song - deliberately - goes off on a few tangents. I did this as I knew the lyrics would do likewise. The song came about after I attended a BBQ at the end of summer 2006. I really enjoyed it and remembered that feeling I had that summer was about to end and the people that were there that day. I kinda saw that one day as being similar to life in general in that you meet new people, others pass you by, good times are had but at the same time things always come to an end.

I also like this song in our live set because I get to do the only thing that's better than playing a guitar solo....playing TWO guitar solo's! It wasn't deliberate, and maybe it is actually just one split into two halves...either way it gives me summat to keep me content!

- Hammy

I Light them up and watch them burn
This time I feel its my turn
This is my chance to come around

Everywhere the people stand and stare
All the troubles are laid bare
Can't destroy the happiness I found

The sunken word will rise out of the ground
Answers came when they never made a sound
The beating heart beats the tears away

Sunshine and the blue sky is today
The good times, as we feel fine, all the way
Outside, where the summer lies
Come out and play now
I found you, now I plan to make you stay

Find yourself and feed your head with dreams
The reality is not what it seems
Throw yourself to the lions den
Think back to how your life was then
Take all your troubles there with you

Nothing seems to ever change

As if the sun the sun would rise out of the ground
Answers came but we never made a sound
And we heard it again

In the memories of better days we'd live it all through again

When you lie
Have the sense to cry
Have the will to try
When I see you again

Sunshine and the blue sky is today
The good times, as we feel fine, all the way
Outside, where the summer lies
Come out and play now
I found you, now I plan to run away
